Hi everyone and happy 2025!
Just like that we're already past Easter and have said goodbye to the winter. I've been keeping quite busy since Christmas, well I say that but I haven't really lol, but I'll tell you what has been going on.
I'm starting to feel my age a bit now, I'm a bit stiff getting up in the morning sometimes and jumping in the car can sometimes be a bit daunting but trust me it ain't slowing me down on a walk or swim!
One of the best things about the winter is having a kip by the fire and farting! |
Ooops Luther looks alarmed |
Another tree down in my woods |
January swims at Shingle Street |
A frosty ol' morning in Martlesham |
We didn't get any snow this winter apart from an odd flurry - uppa global warming! |
Welcome to Chester |
We went up North for a long weekend so that dad could go to Liverpool for football |
Chester station |
We all went into Liverpool on the day before the match as dad wanted to do a pilgrimage around Anfield and Goodison |
'You'll Never Walk Alone' is a true statement for a dog unless you can escape from the garden and wander off on your own (which I have done before) |
We met 'Paddy the Baddy' and he had a photo with us! He's a Mixed Martial Arts Fighter from Liverpool and he was doing some promo filming at his new mural next to Anfield |
There's lots of murals around Anfield which dad wanted to visit, this one is Mo Salah and he's an Egyptian King |
We walked across Stanley Park to Everton's ground |
Goodison Park is closing at the end of the season and they're moving to a new stadium. I'll tell you something for nothing we were knackered when we got back home that night, we had walked to and from the train stations in Chester & Liverpool and clocked up over eleven miles - and all on a lead
The next day dad went back to Liverpool for the match which Ipswich lost 4-1. We went for a walk in Delaware Forest with some of mum's old work colleagues, along with Minnie, who's Soined's dog and Eddy who belongs to her old boss Kath (I can't imagine mum having a boss!) |
Sunday was a bit of a miserable day but it didn't stop us from having a walk around the city walls |
Chester Racecourse |
The castle |
Before we left Chester on Monday morning to come home we had a ride to the football ground |
During the Covid Lockdowns (remember them?) Chester played a couple of matches here with crowds allowed in to watch, the Welsh government went ape shit about it because the pitch is in Wales, which had different rules about people gathering in large groups at the time. What a load of bureaucratic bollocks, the main entrance and offices are in England, they play in the English leagues run by the English FA - f**kin' politics. For the record I had a poo in Wales and a wee in England while we were there lol |
Oh dear Enz - the look of a guilty boy pretending to be sorry for chewing the watering can spout |
He soon got over it |
Me an' Luth had house guests in February, mum & dad went off to Colombia for a couple of weeks so Enzo moved in with Max & Steph, that's all I'm saying! |
Early morning walk around the field |
Before you could blink an eye, they were home, Max & Steph then went to South Africa and we went to stay at Sam's new home in Bristol so that mum & dad could do some odd jobs for him. We travelled economy - well that's how it felt with three of us squeezed into the boot! |
The feed station! |
Enzo sampling some of the Bristol night scene |
The Northern Slopes overlooking the city |
Enzo had his fourth birthday while he was staying with us |
Mum made him a cake |
Another busy day |
Time to restock the logs |
At last the Spring has arrived |
We had a walk around the marshes at Felixstowe |
And then along the beach which means one thing |
A swim! |
Daffy dogs |
It might be Springtime but there's still the chance of a frost |
We had another trip to Bristol just before Easter to help with some DIY |
Luther found a ball and dropped it on the wet paint FFS |
He's very persistent |
A walk through the Northern Slopes to the pub |
The very dog friendly Victoria Park |
We went up to Durdham Downs on our last night which is in Clifton, a posh part of Bristol |
They've got a big problem though because lot's of people have decided to live by the roadside in caravans, campervans and converted vans and lorries, the locals aren't very happy about it |
All the fun of the fair |
Don't think dogs were allowed in - oh well! |
The sun sets on another blog |
As you know I'm not a massive football fan, even though I'm the Borussia Martlesham FC mascot but it does sometimes open up the opportunity for a road trip and/or holiday and that's what is about to happen.
I'm not saying anything else but I'll report back soon.
Until then take care.
Lot's of love from Rudie THE Dog xx
