Ramadam And Ramavan

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog. I'm on a roll now and time waits for no dog so let's continue - we're up to March 2024 already.

Somewhere under the rainbow

So dad made it up to Caldbeck just in time to take us for a walk

Lol never seen a sign like that before

The local pub, the last time we came here was in the Lockdown era and we weren't allowed inside

We stayed here before - I can remember the log burner

On Monday morning dad drove his van to Bradford for the fit out and then got a train to Kendal where we met him

On Tuesday we went to Bassenthwaite for a walk to the lake

Except we never made it as our path was flooded

To be honest it wouldn't have stopped me an' Luther though

We still had a good walk

A walk along the River Caldew from Caldbeck

A few treats in The Oddfellows

It's a bit boggy!

Spring has sprung in Hesket Newmarket

Walking up above Keswick

Finishing off with a swim in Derwent Water

Last day in Caldbeck

So after a week in Calbeck we moved on to Winewall a small village in Lancashire

Cor we had a walk up Pendle Hill (more like a mountain)

Full Moon in Winewall

The Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Wycoller Country Park

The 'Atom' a concrete shelter on top of the hill

Back on the bridge in Wycoller

A canal walk at Hebden Bridge

Part of the reason we went Hebden Bridge was so that dad could catch a train to Bradford to pick the van up. So here's something that I learnt, there's a thing humans call religion and different religions have their own traditions and beliefs.
The people who did the conversion were muslims and once a year they have something called 'Ramadan'. It's the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and they're not allowed to eat or drink anything during daylight hours for the whole month, not sure how me an' Luth would get on with that - especially in my woods!
Anyway when dad got back he announced that from now on his old works van would be known as 'Ramavan' in recognition of the good job that they had done.

Quite a transformation

I wonder if we'll use it much

I'll tell you something, we had quite a bit of rain up north

Look the road's flooded

So that's about it for now, hope you enjoyed the photos. I bet you're wondering if  we've been out in Ramavan? I'll give you an update next time.

Until then take care.

Lots of love from

Rudie THE Dog xx
