From The Championship To Cornwall And Beyond

Hi everyone

Blimey I sound like Buzz Lightyear!
I'm back with another blog already, I'm actually finishing it off on the eve of my 12th birthday which is tomorrow the 24th in case you'd forgotten. Hopefully I'll get some treats, a swim and a cake - no pressure but I'm worth it!
Sit back and let me tell you how we've been getting on with Ramavan amongst other things.

Wherever Luth lays his head... Back home from 'Up North'

Playtime in the spring sunshine with Enz

We love a Shingle Street swim

We finally got to try out Ramavan in April with an overnight test camp at the Sibton White Horse which is only a half an hour from home

Buckle up

There was space for five campers there

It wasn't too bad in the end - there were a few little issues but we all survived lol!

Some nice weather for our walk in the Bluebell Woods near Belstead

It maybe Springtime but we're already planning for the winter!

Dad was well chuffed - Ipswich came second in the Championship and got promoted for the second season running, next season they're in the Premier League which is brilliant apparently

The most important thing about Ipswich getting promotion for me & Luth was that they wouldn't be in the play-offs (that's where the teams in 3rd to 6th place play each other for the remaining promotion place) which meant that we were going to get a bonus holiday and properly put Ramavan through his paces! Mum chose to go Cornwall (obviously). So we headed west.

We had a stop over in a place called Stonehenge. There's a load of ancient stones laid out in a circle, in the middle of a field. I learnt that people called 'Hippies' love going there for the summer and winter solstice - something to do with the longest and shortest days of the year, silly me I thought they were all 24 hours long? You can see the stones in the background

Here's a mini version of the stones outside the aptly named Stonehenge Inn pub, we wild camped in their carpark!

We were going to camp nearer to the stones but there was a Hippy's van parked up and so mum didn't fancy staying there

The next day we continued down to Cornwall to the Treloan Campsite in Portscatho. Me an' Luth had a right ol' laugh watching mum and dad put the awning up!

After a couple of hours they finally got it up and sorted without falling out with each other and then we went for a walk around the coastal path

We got our first swim of the holiday as a reward for our patience

All set up

We love a coastal walk

Luther's in the zone

Theres Foulmouth in the background, sorry I mean Falmouth

The look out, 'I see no ships'

We walked round to a place called Place

From there we got a ferry to St Mawes and then a bus back to Porthscatho (via a pub)

Heading the other way along the coastal path

Cor look what we found on Porthcurnick Beach

The obligatory selfie

It was time to pack up and head further west after a successful four night stay in Porthscatho. Our next stop was about an hours drive further west at the Treen Farm Campsite just above Porthcurno

Our new set up - it didn't take them as long to get the awning up this time, practice makes perfect!

The awning doubles up as our bedroom

Time to explore

Cor f**k me what a beach!

And it's dog friendly until August, we had a great time there with our new ball

A steep climb up the other side

Here's a nice picture of me!

And Luth

Our local pub

The weather forecast wasn't very good for Saturday so we got a bus to St Ives so that mum and dad could buy a hoody each!

And guess what? We didn't even get a swim there!

We went back to Treen on the Lands End Cruiser

A wet end to the day

The next day was better

We had a walk up to the Minack Theatre

That's a rum ol' place - an open air theatre built on the side of a cliff

We saw some of the dress rehearsal for 'Little Shop Of Horrors'

Enough of that - time for a swim

This was a nice circular walk from the campsite to Pedn Vounder Beach, Logan Rock and Penberth Cove

Christ that was some descent down on to Pedn Vounder Beach

Mum decided not to go down - she'd have hated it

Instead she enjoyed the view from the top

Lol we found out that it was a naturist beach which suited me an' Luth - we do it all the time

We saw this old boy walking around with his todger out - no it's not dad!!

Some kids drew a big cock and balls in the sand, he was oblivious to it

We made it back

On to Logan's Rock

The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Beach and Pedn Vounder Beach are all behind Luthie and you can also see the storm clouds gathering

Above Penberth Cove

Bloody hell look at the size of them Rhubarb plants! We found out that they're actually called Gunnera and they were brought over to England from Brazil

That storm arrived just before we got back

So after six nights we headed home. We stopped off for a night near Warminster at a Campervan friendly pub called The George Inn.
There's lots of pubs that let you stay in their car park as long as you book in for a meal (dogs eat free).
Our first big outing in Ramavan went really well, hopefully mum and dad enjoyed it as much as, me an' Luth, we've got no complaints  - we love a holiday!

FFS there's more football on the way lol

Back home and the crops are growing

Rain - that was to become the theme of the summer

Great to catch with Enz - I think he was pissed off that he couldn't come away with us

Talking of going away, we went Up North in Ramavan for a few days in June

To The Tanhill Inn, the highest pub in Britain

It was a bit bleak up there

It really pissed it down the first day that we were there, we ended up having to eat our grub in the pub, it was cold as well - they even had the fires lit inside

Tractor Boys

Paul and Gail met us there and the next day we all went for a nice long walk!

The weather got nicer as the day went on

We walked through Ravenseat Farm which was in a documentary called Our Yorkshire Farm on Channel 5, I know that mum has watched it

We ended up walking eleven miles. They had all booked to see a Dolly Parton tribute act FFS - long story and so it was a bit of a rush for them to get ready when we finally got back

We were meant to drive over to the the Ribbleshead Viaduct the next day but when we woke up it was raining and the forecast was awful so we sacked it off and went home.
I'll leave it there for and go and prepare for my big day.

Look out for my next blog coming soon I promise.

Lots of love from

Rudie THE Dog xx
