My Shaggy Dog Story

Has anyone heard of or know what a 'Shaggy Dog Story' is?
Just in case you haven't I pinched this off Wikipedia to explain.
"A shaggy dog story is an extremely long-winded anecdote characterized by extensive narration of typically irrelevant incidents and terminated by an anticlimax."

Here goes a dog telling one:-

You may have forgotten (many seem to have) that I'm the mascot of Borussia Martlesham FC, in fact it's because of me that they are called 'The Labs'.

That's me in 2013 sporting the Jurgen Klopp look
The football team have got a new home kit this season and it was due to be picked up from Needham Market after getting the badge, sponsors name and numbers put on it. Mum and dad thought it would be a nice idea to integrate picking it up with a nice walk with us boys.

'Barking & Back Again' - what a great name for a dog walk

We parked up at Needham Lakes and started our walk there. This is an old cattle tunnel under the main Ipswich to Norwich railway line

Needham Market high street

'Barking Church' lol

F**k me there is an actual place called Barking!

An abandoned crane in a wood. How random is that?

It was a really hot day and luckily I found a muddy stream to cool off in, much to their disgust

Ah how sweet is Luther

What a good boy

Until you find out that he's been rolling in FOX SHIT and trust me it really stinks, that really did piss mum & dad off

Soon after to add to their frustrations we found a puddle to lay in

By now I think that they were regretting taking us out, we were like pigs in shit. If they weren't watch the video below that did the trick lol

So here we are happy but dirty, smelly dogs

We loved it
A great adventure in new territory

To make matters worse when we got back to Needham Market we learnt that the road under the bridge was closed to traffic, meaning that we would have to take a big diversion around it to pick up the kit - you couldn't make it up
The bonus for us was that we had a swim in the lake to freshen up!

We managed to get the football kit eventually lol, but when we got home and dried out we stunk like a stagnant pond apparently! So early the next morning we took a trip to Felixstowe for a freshen up

Come on throw the ball

What a life

Everyone's happy now

I hope you enjoyed my Shaggy Dog Story? Well I thought that it was funny, basically it was a long winded way to pick up a football kit.
I have heard another Shaggy Dog Story, it's about Roberto Es Quallo - the meanest man in all of Mexico, but you'd have to get dad to tell you that one!
Back soon.

Lots of love from

Rudie THE Dog
