Heatwave

Hello everyone

What an extremely hot summer it was in my part of the world, with record temperatures and no rain, I'm not one to complain (well actually I am) but it was so uncomfortable at times being trapped in my fur, no t-shirt & shorts for me!

To add salt to the wound mum broke a metatarsal in her left foot and was in a cast for eight weeks which meant that she couldn't join us for walks - which made it quite a boring summer in regards to going out for new adventures.

She had been out with her friends and when dad picked her up she missed her footing as she got into the car and slipped over. Apparently it had something to do with drinking wine? - don't ask me I've never touched a drop.

Look at how white the grass is

Down to Felixstowe for a much needed swim to cool down - mum managed to walk ten yards lol

There's the Stena boat that goes from Harwich to The Hook Of Holland

Sadly we'll never go on it again due to the post Brexit dog rules on travelling in the EU and the fact I've no longer got any health insurance due to my age and the cost

Luther looks pleased with himself, he loves to roll in shit!

Back home for a hose down

He didn't seem to mind

Enzo enjoyed watching

Enzo spent quite a bit of time with us during the day throughout the summer

Coming round for playdates and walks

Cor they're digging up the path outside, I wonder if I can help?

Another trip to Felixstowe

Mmmmm chips

F**K it's hot

Dad's been blackberrying while we played. I'm not that keen on them unless they're in a crumble

Hot dogs on a mustard bed

Dad's latest invention - 'Feed stations'

We don't have to hoover up the grub as much!

30 in the shade in my woods

The heat was knackering

Luther's in the wars AGAIN he had a Hot Spot which looked pretty nasty

He had to wear a collar to stop him scratching it

He could still enjoy a drink from the watering can though

In the end we had to take him to the vets for some steroid cream to clear it up

And a new cone - he could easily get the other one off and scratch himself

Poor ol' Luth - can you see the teeth marks around it? That was caused by Enzo playing tug of war with him FFS!

A week later and all was well

A Friday night trip to Aldeburgh

Another swim, this time one of our favourites - Felixstowe. Notice that there's no ships in the port, the workers went on strike

A three dog log

At last they've cleared the path behind my woods

Archie & Uncle Ivan have popped round

Huh he thinks he's in charge

A kid in a sweet shop

Tempting

But he knew better, or was he scared? I'd have just got stuck in and took the consequences!

Enzo came to stay for 10 days in October while Max & Steph were in Tenerife on holiday, so we took him to Shingle Street

At last mum is able to walk a reasonable distance, happy days

We found a friend there

As a reward (to mum & dad) we popped into the Cherry Tree in Woodbridge on the way home

Luther's knackered

We're all knackered

First fire of the winter

Who wants to be a millionaire?

So all in all it's been a quiet Summer & Autumn thanks to the heatwave but more importantly mum's injury, which has kept us domiciled apart from the odd trip to the seaside.
By the time I write my next blog I'll be TEN human years old, can you believe it? I'll let you know how it went soon.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
