Bristol And A Birthday - My Brother's From Another

Hi everyone

I'm back and I'm going to try and get my blog up to date as soon as possible, promise. My problem (or excuse) as I keep on saying is the pandemic - I'm so active in a walkies way!

Here we go then, in August we went down to Bristol to visit Sam and find out how he was settling in to his new life in the west Country, he transferred his job after two years of living in London.

Before we go any further I want to say that I really love my big brother Sam but I'm not sure if he's got my back? You see he works for a travel company called Trailfinders who specialise in tailormade holidays all around the world, and I'm really pleased for him, my problem is that he keeps on selling them to mum and dad! Luckily for me they all get cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions and therefore Luther and me get more holidays in the UK.

I have to say I'm a bit of an anti-vaxxer, don't get me wrong I don't want anyone to die or get ill but as soon as things return to normal us dogs won't be as spoilt.

Let's not go there about Brexit and dog passports either, I'm beginning to feel like we're f**ked!

Boo - Trailfinders. Hooray Sam

We met Sam after work and had a walk through the city to the waterfront

No swimming though

So we went to the pub

Cor I didn't think that Bristol would be so hilly

We walked up to the Clifton Suspension Bridge

And across it

They're a rum ol' bunch in Bristol, during the Lockdown in the summer of 2020 a load of 'activists' decided to pull down the statue of Edward Colston (a slave trader in Bristol during the late 1600's) and throw it into the harbour, which is a couple of hundred yards behind us

It's since been fished out and is now in a museum

Avon calling! All aboard the X39 to Saltford and a walk along the river

Our riverside picnic - AKA the leftovers

We did get a brief swim

Beers at The Jolly Sailor

And The Crown before our bus ride back to Bristol

Sam's local

Cor those Bristolians like a protest, there's one advertised for Extinsion Rebellion on the grass behind us for the week after we went home. We'll have to keep an eye on Sam - don't want him getting too woke lol!

Welcome to Vale Street - with the steepest hill in Britain

Doesn't look too bad from the top

F**k me it's a different story at the bottom!

I really enjoyed our three days in Bristol, I was secretly hoping that we would go on to Cornwall afterwards as we were over half way there, never mind, another time perhaps?

The August Bank Holiday weekend coincided with Max's 30th birthday

And we agreed to host a barbecue/party at our house for him

The birthday boy

How cool do we look!??

Just checkin' out the catering as you would expect

Helping to keep the guests entertained, there must have been over 40 people there and I'm not going to say anything about anything that happened or not except that I think everybody had a great time

The morning after the night before - starting with some leftovers

Enz stayed over as Max and Steph were in no fit state to look after him. FFS don't repeat this please

Time we helped to clear up

Never trust a Labrador near food

Enzo getting a taste for cider?

Now he's been caught on the chairs

And again, what's he after?

Sniffin' out the Doritos

Only one place for him! Ahhh poor boy

Thirsty work all this clearin' up

Chewin' over last nights party

Well I hope it was worth the wait?
I'll be blogging again soon - promise.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
