Hi everyone
I just wanted to share some exciting news with you. We've got a new bespoke kennel, which dad has made entirely from our old garden shed, he even re-used the nails, the only thing that is new is the corrugated roof panels, paint and the bolts which hold the panels together.
| Home sweet home |
| He started it during the November Lockdown and me an' Luther were with him at every stage of the project |
| First thing we had to do was take it to bits |
| And then shorten the height |
| We obviously were on hand to model so that the dimensions were correct |
| Luther overseeing that the entrance measurements are correct |
| I think dad also appreciated our company |
| It's coming along |
| Once the main kennel was built it was time to design and build the veranda |
| Dad joined the circular saw club! |
| Mum was very involved in the design process, she even wanted us to have flower boxes... |
| ...and was involved in the colour scheme as well. |
| She didn't help building it though - typical woman. Don't quote me for f**ks sake! |
| Good news, our old basket will fit inside |
| Luther took every opportunity he could to distract dad and get him to play
| Once the new kennel built and ready to paint it was time to move our old kennel and do the groundwork for the base, I was very paws on at this stage of the project! |
| Ready to path |
| FFS Luther |
| I reckon he had a concrete gob by the time the slabs were laid |
| After several hold ups due to going on holiday, Christmas, bad weather and snow the day of reckoning finally arrived |
| The final construction, would it all fit? |
| We were on hand for moral support |
| He's looking confident |
| And he fits inside |
| Looking good |
| I think I'll be happy in there |
| All done - it just needs some flowers and landscaping. F**k me I don't want much! |
| I begsy the bed, Luther can have the carpet |
So there it is, our new home from home. I'm very pleased with it, influenced by our holidays and trips it looks like a cross between a beach hut and a Swiss mountain chalet.
Thanks dad
Take care everyone I'm off for a snooze!
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
