Hi everyone
How's your 2021 going? Not as good as mine I'd suggest. Here's how my life has been since getting home from Cornwall.
We got back on December 12th so it was full steam ahead for Christmas. Dad got sent into the loft to get the tree and Christmas stuff down and mum then decorated the house in preparation for the big day.
There was so much talk of relaxing the 'rules' for Christmas and having a five day window for families to get together.
Blimey, you lot have had it tough, I'm not sure how us dogs would cope if we were told that we had to be kept on a lead whilst on a walk, unable to socialise with other dogs, no sniffing each others arses or trying to shag etc for nine months (and counting)!
'Don't let them dogs knock the tree decorations off with their tails' was heard on more than one occasion, we were very careful, oh and neither of us pissed on the tree |
Santa came down the chimney early! |
A beautiful winters day in Suffolk and a walk from Saxted Mill |
The tier system was very complicated, for dogs to understand, let alone humans. It's like don't shit here, cock your left leg only... We were in Tier 3 so at least we were still allowed to go out in the car.
Those drummers don't look very enthusiastic |
Back in Saxted at lunchtime, just in time for a 'Substantial meal'
 | Shingle Street on Christmas Eve. Will we ever find the rainbows end?
Roll on 2021 - I'm fed up of wearin' these f**kin' stupid glasses |
So's Luther |
Everything had changed by the time Christmas Day arrived, Coronavirus cases were on a steep rise so the government told us that five day easing could no longer happen. In the lead up to Christmas London also got put into Tier 4 so nobody was allowed to leave their homes but luckily Sam escaped just in time and got home to our bubble.
We ended up with just him, Max and Steph for Christmas dinner (hopefully mum had catered for more!)
At midnight on Christmas Day Suffolk was put into Tier 4 which meant that we had to stay at home except for exercise and travel outside the area was banned. |
Phew - glad we weren't denied our swim |
We also went for a walk around Sutton Hoo which is on the opposite side of the river Deben to Woodbridge |
A medieval ship buried there was discovered in 1938 and there is a film coming out on Netflix in January about it |
It's called The Dig - mmmm sounds like my kind of film, perhaps I could be a volunteer archaeologist? |
Happy as pigs in shit! |
A cold and frosty New Years Eve morning |
One last swim of 2020 |
Happy New Year? |
Good news for us, mum has started a January challenge to walk 100 kilometres |
F**k Boris is back! Bad news for you lot - he's put us all into lockdown again |
Which meant all non essential travel was banned. |
'Hey stay local' - we spent January walking from home |
Swingers |
We can fight over a stick anywhere |
On a walk around the boardwalks we sneaked into Ipswich Golf Club for a look |
I'm confused, how can green be clear surely it will always be green? |
You have to take a swim wherever you can during a lockdown |
So we did |
The only time we went anywhere in the car during January was a visit to Shingle Street |
But first a walk along the river bank to Hollesley |
World War 2 Pillar Box |
Lookouts |
We also walked by the prison |
'It wasn't me your honour' |
Finally made it to Shingle Street |
Ah that's heaven |
The first snow this winter |
Yellow warning for snow...man! |
We met up for a walk with Barney at Martlesham Creek |
It was also nice to see a bit of sunshine |
We were walking alongside the fields where the horses exercise near to Martlesham when suddenly dopey Luther walked into the electric wire that keeps them in, you should have heard him yelp! |
'Can't believe that's still running, all I see is empty buses going past' - by the way that's dad not me! |
A frosty walk to Martlesham Creek |
Opposite Kyson Point, Woodbridge is on the left, Sutton Hoo ahead and Waldringfield on the right |
Knackered after that |
Not much happening in there nowadays |
The BT Research site at Adastral Park |
They've got some serious satellite dishes in there |
There's water in there I'm sure of it |
Bealings Road flooded |
Rushmere Heath |
'On the tee...' |
How things have changed, a year ago we were staying with Max & Steph while mum & dad were going on holiday, now we're going there for the weekend as they're fed up of lockdown and are missing us and need company |
A swim in the River Orwell |
We had a great weekend at M&S's hopefully we can go again soon |
Rendezvous at Foxhall stadium and time to hand us back to mum & dad, I wonder if they enjoyed our company as much as we did theirs? |
That's January over and I have to say I really enjoyed it, mum smashed her target of walking 100 kilometres and ended up doing over 160 which meant that we got to go on some great walks. I know you humans are getting well pissed off but hopefully you'll soon be allowed some sort of old normality soon.
Stay safe & take care.
