The Labratour

So now that I've chirped up a bit I think that it's time to share my holiday photos from the Labratour with you all, hopefully they'll brighten up your day.

Me and Luth all ready for our European tour, that's all the luggage that we need for the trip
First leg of the journey completed, A 45 minute drive from home to Harwich

Ready for the overnight crossing to The Hook Of Holland on the Stena Britannica

All locked up for the night while mum and dad are probably lording it up on the main decks

Sunrise in Holland, that wasn't too bad a crossing to be honest, the waves rocked me off nicely

We've crossed from Holland into Germany and it's breakfast time outside Borussia Park in Moenchengladbach en route to Baden Baden a drive of about 380 miles
Yeah this is alright

Our apartment with an outside balcony to relax on

Mine and Luther's feed station!

We enjoyed our stay in Baden Baden apart from we never got to go swimming, let's hope that changes on the next leg
After a couple of nights in Germany we were on the move again to Interlaken in Switzerland via the scenic 'Schwarzwaldhochstrasse' (Black Road).

Here we are 230 miles later. I've had a few dogs ask me if I ever get bored travelling? I tell them all I have to do is sleep in the back of the car, wake up and hey presto I'm somewhere new. Probably the worst part is having to put up with Luther's farts!

First impressions of Switzerland - Yep I think I'm going to like it

That's handy a bus stop right outside our house and it was free, mind you I never pay for anything!

The Harder funicular railway, I've never seen anything like it!
It's a train which goes up the side of a mountain, look how steep it is

The view point at the top of The Harder Kulm 1322 metres above sea level, I was to learn a lot about 'above sea level' in Switzerland

We walked back down to Interlaken which suited me. Look behind me, there's a Kitesurfer, never seen one before not sure I'd like that

That lake looks inviting

It was hot work walking down there. Luther couldn't resist that big bowl of water
We had a boat trip around Lake Brienz in the afternoon before going home and then having another swim in it
Chillin' out after a busy day
A day trip from Interlaken to Schynige Platte, a bus and two trains. The first one was modern and we were only on it for five minutes though

The second one was really old and it dragged us up a mountain nearly 2000 metres high

cor look at them views, Lake Thun on the left, Lake Brienz on the right and Interlaken in the middle

Picnic views

Happy boys
Just when you think nothing could spoil such a lovely day Luther decides to roll in cow shit!

'Hey Luth I'm not sure if you smoke 'em or blow through 'em!'

The bonus of Luther's earlier mistermeaners - dad did clean him up a bit but...

On the road again, from Interlaken to Zermatt which included driving the car onto a train for a ride through the middle of a mountain!

We had to park up in a place called Tasch and take all of our stuff up to Zermatt via train as it's a car free town
Nice apartment pity we can't sleep on that bed though

We woke up the next morning really Horny! What a view

Another funicular train ride, this one was underground through a mountain to Sunnegga

There's the Matterhorn covered by cloud

Lovely and peaceful up here

We even found a lake

Lifts - they're really funny I still can't get my head round how they work

We took a walk up to a hotel called Edelweiss which is perched on the edge of the mountain behind us

Apparently it was hard work for the oldies

Hooray we made it. Why would you build a hotel here? All of their supplies are delivered by helicopter
a welcome drink at the Hunde bar

A view of Zermatt

Back in Zermatt and you can just about make out the Hotel Edelweiss underneath the arrow
Okay so we were knackered too

'Always leave them wanting more' is my theory and seeing as we're half way through the journey I'm going to leave it there for now. I'll post part two another day.

Love from Rudie THE Dog xx
