On The Road Again

Blimey I am one lucky Labrador (well so's Luther actually). We got woken up early the other morning to discover that we were going on another holiday, I had seen some cases in the hall the previous night and assumed mum and dad were off somewhere without us.

Us boys are always ready for a trip, we just need to pack some grub and a lead each, they take shit loads

Christ it's not even 6am
We love a road trip this one's 320 miles up to the Lake District
Breakfast stop up north at Ferrybridge Services on the A1/M62 junction
We had a good run and arrived early so we went  to Wigton to do some shopping
Hooray we're here in Caldbeck
First observation there's loads of sheep about
Our first trip to the local
The next day we drove to Braithwaite
And did a circular walk to Barrow and Stile End
That boy Luther always manages to find a stick

My first taste of Fell walking
Nice views of Braithwaite, Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw in the background

They love a selfie

We had a bit of rain and hail up there

The top of Stile End

Lunchtime at the pub?
No a sandwich from the village shop

Another day and another adventure, a walk from Aira Falls to Glenridding

Ullswater in the background could we be about to have a swim? I hope so

Those two little black lambs look very interested in us

Yea swimming in the lake

I spy with my little eye

Another wet day but we don't mind

So I learnt that in December 2015 Storm Desmond hit the area and completely flooded it
Cool we're getting a steamer back

This is it being refloated after the storm!

All aboard - yep we were the only passengers

Back on (not very) dry land

A walk up to see the falls

Another chance of a swim at the bottom
Don't ask me why but the next day they wanted to go to the seaside and have fish & chips

So we drove o Maryport. Luther sitting on the uninspiring prom. That's Scotland in the background

The fish & chips weren't that nice, trust me and to make matters worse we didn't even get to go for a swim

That's better, a walk through the forest up to the top of Watch Hill above Cockermouth. I may not of got a swim in Maryport but I made use of the puddles!

The summit

We stuck the first 'BMFC On Tour' sticker there

Steph's birthday was on Thursday so we sent her an Instagram greeting as she wasn't lucky enough to see us

Who said I was nosey?
Look who came to see us for the weekend - Paul & Gail. We went on a circular walk from our house

Stopped off at The Old Crown in Hesket Newmarket
Nice and warm inside
Bluebell woods

We never miss an opportunity

Back in Caldbeck

Saturday morning and time to leave our house, the good news is we were staying in a pub for the night!

Paul & Gail didn't though, they've just brought a camper van - this was their home for the night

But first we're going on another adventure from Bowderstone to Rosthwaite, Grange and back

Love it!

Well after a busy day of walking, running and swimming it's time for some grub back at Chez Foster
Meanwhile back in the pub. They didn't treat us by the way the tight gits!

Our last day in the Lakes
We were due to drive back but the weather had turned so nice that we decided to go on one last adventure

A circular hill walk from Rosthwaite

Cor the scenery is mental

If you look carefully you'll see me in that bog lol!
We're up the top of the mountain and there's a lake, they call them Tarns up north

Lodore Falls

Ah!

Derwent Water in the background

One last swim

We ended up leaving Rosthwaite just before 5pm and got home at 10.30pm, to be honest I slept most of the way, I was knackered. I had such a great holiday and I know what a lucky boy I am.
What's next? you ask. Well if those wankers sort Brexit out in time I'll be going on another European tour. There's some shit about dogs having blood tests if we haven't got a deal, what's that all about? As if we're going to become poisonous overnight!

A dog's life is so much easier, we don't have all of this political bollocks. Vote Rudie that's what I say.
See you soon

Lots of love from

Rudie THE Dog xx
