Have you ever heard the expression 'I'm like a dog with two dicks'? I've never seen a dog with dicks before but I think it means to be very excited, well that's me at the moment!
We're just back from a holiday 'Up North' where me an' Luth had a brilliant time, the weather was great which you can never guarantee in England.
The journey to Amble in Northumberland started at 5am, no wonder we look groggy 💤 |
We stopped at Grantham for a breath of fresh air! |
We're halfway there and it's breakfast time in Sherwood Pines, near Mansfield |
Say no more! |
Ah ha that's why we got up early, so dad could do a Parkrun 🏃♂️FFS! |
Mum came up with the idea that one of us (me or Luther - not her!) could go with him, I kept my head down and so Luth went. It's no good getting older if you don't get wiser. 👍 |
I had a lovely time exploring the woods while he had to trot round on a lead for 5 kilometres lol |
They look hot! Well done dad 50 Parkruns done, I've run one and Luther's now done two |
After his run dad had an Italian shower (not really sure what that means but rumour has it I might well find out soon - watch this space) we carried on 'Up North' and stopped off near Gateshead at The Angel of the North sculpture |
The Angels Of The North! |
We made it! 330 miles |
Monday's breakfast, the leftovers from last nights Indian. You know us Labs - we'll eat any ol' shit lol 🍛🌶🔥 |
We drove up the coast on Monday to a place called Lindisfarne aka The Holy Island. You can get to it by road across the causeway when the tide's out |
We stayed there a couple of hours |
Lindisfarne Castle |
Dad was more impressed by the scaffolding! |
Christ, did they name Lindisfarne 'The Holy Island' because it's only about ten miles from Scotland? We decided to have a visit as we were so close. I don't know how but we managed to get in and out without a passport! 🏴🛂 |
Time for a swim |
The tease! |
Hahaha Max has never been to Scotland 🏴 |
There was lots of excitement about the World Cup, although I didn't notice anything in Scotland! Are they in it? The next day Paul came up to watch the Columbia v England match and stayed the night 🇨🇴🏴⚽️ |
But first there was a trip to the beach to be had |
Look we're the only f**kers on here - unbelievable aka heaven |
I like ol' Paulie he's always keen to have a game with us |
What a life! After the walk we went back to the house and had a quiet night in while the grown ups went to the pub to watch the football. England won on penalties and our peace was shattered went they got back - you'd have thought that we had won The World Cup! |
We had a ride along the coast to Bamburgh Castle and more importantly the beach |
It was quite a trek through the sand dunes |
But boy was it worth it. That's the Farn Islands in the background in case you're asking lol |
And Bamburgh Castle behind us |
We had such good fun |
Everybody was saying 'It's coming home' so we joined in 🏴⚽️ |
Ah a selfie |
We went along the coast to Craster |
Where dad brought some kippers - much to mums disgust! Apparently they're the best in the world |
Then we had a walk along the cliffs towards Dunstanburgh Castle. Blimey they're's lot's of castles in Northumberland |
The last day of the holiday and we came home via Housesteads to visit part of Hadrians Wall. it was built right across the top of England by the Romans back in the day to keep the Scots out, not really it was to keep out the Acient Britons. Donald Trump would love it! 🇺🇸🇲🇽 |
Do you know what? We weren't allowed off our leads because of the sheep - pity really I would have loved to have explored it a bit more |
You humans are strange at times all of that effort to keep your neighbours out, mind you I suppose we've got fences at home |
It's lasted well considering it was built nearly 2,000 years ago |
Thirsty ol' work |
The journey home was about 380 miles including the detour to Housesteads |
We had a great time 'Up North' everybody was really nice to us, I'd certainly recommend it to all of my canine buddies.
I can't wait to get to the end of the blog to tell you some more exciting news! 📰
Me an' Luth had a couple of bitches round for a barbecue the Saturday that we got back. Karma and Lava came round with Mark, Kimberley, Max and Steph. There was lot's of wedding and Football talk, everyone was in a good mood as England had just beaten Sweden to make through to the world Cup semi final. |
'Let's get it on' 🎶 |
Don't worry nothing happened! |
It's all happening at the minute - grandad and grandma came over for the weekend |
He couldn't wait to get in my wooods |
Sunday morning at the viewpoint in Felixstowe, one of my favourite places. The little foot ferry has just arrived from Harwich, I'm not that interested I just want to go swimming! |
Cor they have some big ol' boats come in here, that's the Murcia Maersk one of the biggest container ships in the world. It can carry over 20,000 containers - blimey I'm like a dog fountain of knowledge ⛲️📚🎓 |
Cor it's all happenin' down here today, that ones not so big |
Look who came to see us, me an' Luther are so popular |
So here's the exciting news that I promised, f**k I'm so excited to tell you, I mean I'm really excited! We're going on that Stena Line ferry from Harwich to Holland on July 22nd (the day after I finish this blog) and we're going on a EUROPEAN tour! 🏴🇳🇱🇩🇪🇦🇹🇮🇹🇫🇷🏴 |
F**k it I'm going, come on Luth! |
Well I've got to go now and get packed etc ready for the trip, well actually I'm just going to watch!
I'll blog again on my arrival back in Blighty.
Oh and by the way It didn't come home - England lost to Croatia in the World Cup semi-final, in case you didn't know.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
