A Vacation And A Staycation

Well who's a lucky boy then? Me!

Thanks To Ali's challenge we got a bonus holiday in May. He was cycling and running from John O' Groats to Lands End in memory of Joe and to raise funds for Inspire Suffolk.

Mum heard the words 'Lands End' and decided that we should be there in Cornwall to see him complete his 960 mile journey, even better she wanted to stay for a week - good ol' Shar lol.

We had a mid-morning start as we were staying overnight in Exeter to meet up with Sam who was working there

Bathroom stop near Yeovil aka a shit in the bushes

Blimey we got to stay in a hotel for the night

Me an' Luth even got a welcome pack

Cor a ball for the holiday

And some treats

Time to explore the Quayside

Cor look who's turned up - Enzo, who came down for the weekend with Max & Steph, he turned up just in time to meet the nice girl from the bar who gave us treats and made a huge fuss of us, I like the West Country

We went to another pub afterwards called The Fat Pig Freehouse and met up with Sam, us boys are laying under the table! It was a fun evening listening to them lot talking shit

The next morning we continued on to Cornwall, stopping off at Marizon on the way for a swim and a walk before seeing Ali arrive into Penzance

That's St Michaels Mount in the background. we walked across to it at low tide a few years ago. I found out that they've now banned dogs from the island ffs

Here he is on Saturday morning at Lands End, having completed his challenge which included cycling at least 100 miles a day and running 5 marathons - what a boy! He's also raised over £20,000. Good ol' Ali, well done and thanks for the holiday buh

I didn't manage to get in the group photo with him unfortunately, To be honest I was more than happy to be a spectator

Right let's get down to business. Once we left Lands End we drove round to Porthcurno beach where we were treated to a swim

All be it very briefly because there were a lot of people there and quite frankly mum doesn't trust us to behave!

It was nice to cool down though

Sunday morning in St Ives

We all had a great morning swimming and then going for a walk

Having a chill

So everyone went home on Sunday apart from us, we still had a few days left for fun

Back on the beach

We spent the next couple of days in and around St Ives

It's ban the dog on the beach season - although this one at Porthgwidden is between July & August

I see another beach

Luther's spotted that we're a day late for this one at Porthmeor it's May 15th - September 30th - shit. Oh yeah that's the reason we're not allowed

We'd better double check this one before we go in. By the way do you like our new collars? A holiday treat and the lady chose who had which colour

Good news the ban is July & August

Swimming in the harbour

Walking away from Porthmeor beach

Let's test Luther's obedience

He's still waiting lol

We went to the Geevor Tin Mine and did a circular coast walk

Hello I see a nice beach down there

It was a bit remote and not very easy to get down to (for humans)

Dad made it though lol

We had a swim there but it was a bit rough

Back up we go

Back at the Geevor Tin Mine

We caught the Lands End Coaster from St Ives to Lands End on our last day in Cornwall

It was a great day to walk from there along the Coastal Path to Porthcurno

Must be getting warmer if the snakes are about

Me being Captain Poldark

Wild horses above Nanjizal beach

What's a coastal walk without a steep climb!

High above Porthcurno beach. MOAN ALERT - we walked six miles up and down cliffs and didn't even get a swim all day ffs!

We got back on the coaster to Penzance where mum and dad rewarded themselves with a beer, we got water

Last leg of the trip - Penzance to St Ives

Friday morning and time to head home

But not before stopping in Bristol to see Sam

He took us out in his car for a nice walk

Above the Clifton Suspension Bridge

This is my way of saying thank you

He also took us to see President Zelenskyy's mural

Tonight's kennel

I have to say that was a really good holiday, I wonder when the next one will be? I've overheard mum and dad talking about taking us somewhere later in the year although I think our days of going to Europe look numbered and I've probably had my last shit there. Since we Brexited the Europeans seem to be sulking and have put new restrictions making it more expensive and difficult for dog travel. Wankers, as if we're going to take new diseases there just because we left the EU, they really need to grow up lol.

It's MOT time again at the Vets - great news we both passed with no advisories! Although the vet did explain the complexities of European travel, so I guess we're f**ked

Teaming up with Enz again

And catching up on the gossip

Cor look what mum has treated us to - God Save The Queen (and the one in London!)

Mum & dad went to watch cricket on the first day of the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend so we went to stay at Enz's and had a nice trip to Shingle Street so that Steph could try her paddle board out

All set for our party

Where is everyone?

We had a great time at the Dog Orchard

Afterwards we carried on with the party at our house. This is our new cousin Archie - he's not a bad lad

Family picture

Blimey it was just after the Jubilee weekend finished that we learnt that we were going to live with Enz for three weeks while mum & dad went to America, my peaceful life was about to be put on hold lol. It actually turned out really well in the end, me and Luth took it in turns to get some respite in the crate. Steph & Max were really nice to us and let us get away with more than we do at home. It was so much nicer than going into kennels.

Happy boys

FFS Enz!

Things did get a bit more challenging a week before mum & dad got home though, Steph ruptured her Achilles and was out of action so Max had three dogs and a wife to look after! I don't think he has never been so pleased to see them!

Mum & dad being nice to us and taking to Shingle Street

True Bromance. So while we were staying at Enzies Max & Steph swapped our collars over because they thought I suited red better!

Our holiday presents - Breaking Bad ties

I wonder if the Salamanca twins are looking for them?
Swimming at one of my old haunts - Felixstowe dock

We went down there so that Steph could watch us play

Bet she was jealous!

That's me bang up to date for a change, hope you all have a lovely summer. I'll catch up with you soon.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
