A belated Happy New Year to all of my fans and followers, what will this year bring us? More freedom for the humans you hope, I'm selfishly ambivalent though - more freedom for you lot equals less attention for the canine clan!
So we'll start this blog on New Years Eve.
After all the drama of Covid Christmas, followed by Max & Steph then deciding to go into hibernation in fear of getting a positive test before their holiday to Barbados, Enzo was finally all clear to come and stay with us.
This is what I mean about people getting their freedom back to travel abroad, us dogs are coming second again and either put in kennels or have to stay elsewhere. Mind you it's not all bad, here's Enzo's holiday snaps.
Chillin' with his homies |
Christmas decs still up in my wood |
First trip of the year to Shingle Street |
The ten days didn't all go incident free - He took a liking to one of the bushes |
Crate fun |
We met up with Tracey & Barney for a walk around the marshes and beach at Felixstowe |
He's in the shit again - this time it's dad's outside table! |
Out with the frost |
And the sunrise |
All in all having Enzo stay with us was great, mind you I was glad to get some peace and quiet when he went home, he just didn't leave me alone, probably because he knows I'm the boss and wants to impress me |
No sooner had Enzo gone back home to Max & Steph that I found out we were going away. Mum and dad had booked to go to Thailand but it was still locked down and so got cancelled (hooray!) which meant we then got a sneaky break in Cornwall.
I never complain about getting up early if it's to go on holiday |
Déjà vu - the last time we went to Cornwall we got stuck on the M25 for hours, today we made it to Somerset before finding the A303 closed |
Which was also breakfast time |
Cor we're close now, you can Cornwall over the Tamar bridge |
We had a nice walk around Mount Edgcumbe Country Park once we crossed the bridge |
First swim of the holiday |
Our home for the next week in Polperro |
A week of walking, swimming, eating and sleeping hopefully |
Lovely job, a wood burner |
We're easy like Sunday morning |
In Polperro |
It was quite funny really, when we got to the cottage the wifi wasn't working and there was no phone signal in the house - not a problem for me an' Luth though. Mum and dad had to wander along the quay to get some service - first world problems! |
On Monday we walked along the coast path from Polperro to Looe (where we stayed in November) |
Talland Bay all closed up for the winter |
Nice views |
Lol |
Five and a half miles later we've arrived |
A bus ride back to Polperro |
Another walk from Polperro in the other direction along the South West Coast Path towards Polruan
Cor blimey I see why it's nicknamed 'The Rollercoaster walk'! |
We got as far as Lansallos Beach |
Had a swim |
And walked back inland to Polperro |
Off we go again on a circle walk to Talland Bay |
Lol our own development in the village |
Still closed but luckily mum and dad took some pasties and some treats for us |
Back to Polperro along the coast path |
We went on a circular walk from Lantic Bay to Polruan on our last day in Cornwall |
Cor look at that beach |
It was a long way down but worth it |
Polruan with Fowey across the river |
A great walk to finish off our week in Cornwall |
Bye bye Polperro, but we weren't going home yet! We were heading to see Sam |
We stopped off for a walk around Siblyback Lake near Bodmin Moor |
Damn that's a long way down |
Sam came over to stay with us in Saltford which is between Bristol & Bath |
A hilly Sunday walk |
Walking from Saltford to Bath along the disused railway line |
Not our favourite walk ever! |
Back to Saltford on the X39 after walking around Bath and also finding a park where dogs weren't allowed FFS - glad we didn't have to walk |
Our last day walking along the canal |
Well that was an unexpected holiday and hopefully a scene setter for the year ahead (paws crossed).
Don't forget to tune in soon for another Dogblog.
Lots of love from
