Hi everyone
Me and Luther are two very lucky Labradors. As the pandemic continued into the autumn mum and dad took us to Cornwall for a two week holiday - still no foreign travel for them - happy days!
Things didn't get off to the best start though, we set off at 5am to beat the morning rush hour on the M25 |
Only to get stuck for about five hours due to an accident near to South Mimms |
So it was breakfast in the boot for us |
Finally 12 hours after leaving home we made it to Looe, just in time for a quick walk before it got dark |
We also had our tea by harbour |
We got a nice surprise when we arrived at our house, Sam, Max, Steph and most importantly Enzo were there to meet us, they had travelled down separately and were going to be spending a few days with us
Sunday funday in Looe starting with a walk in Kilminorth woods |
mmmm magic mushrooms |
Holiday vibes |
Goosed! |
Getting the bus to Polperro for Monday's walk back to Looe along the coastal path |
Polperro |
Interesting place |
A great walk |
Back in Looe |
'Gone Bodmin' |
Looe harbour |
Enzo's last day in Cornwall |
Treat time hopefully? We really had a great few days with Enzo but all good things come to an end |
But dogs welcome |
Just to prove that Cornwall is not all beaches |
After a great week in Looe we headed further down the coast to Porthleven. We stopped off in Foulmouth, f**k I mean Falmouth! on the way and did a nice circular walk there |
Mmmmmmm Sarah makes a mighty fine pasty |
Up early on Saturday morning for the Lands End Parkrun |
The first and last house in England in the background |
Parkrun done, an Italian shower for dad and then we're off for a coastal walk |
Luther managed to roll in something fishy |
Post walk at The first and last pub in England |
Bastard! He got scrubbed with Fairy Liquid and he still stunk |
Porthleven |
Is that a message specifically for Luther? Probably not after yesterday |
We weren't allowed to swim in the sea here as it's too dangerous |
So we had a swim in Loe Pool |
Monday morning's coastal walk, why do we look so unenthusiastic? |
It's like a scene from Poldark |
Looks inviting |
We walked the coastal path to Pentreath |
And got a bus back to Portleven |
We went to Redruth so that mum could visit Nadene who she used to work with, afterwards we drove to Hell's Mouth and did a walk to the Godrevy Lighthouse |
Cor whatta beach |
There's St Ives in the distance - I love it there as well |
Another walk from Porthleven |
To Loe Bar |
Through the Penrose Estate |
Around Loe Pool |
And back |
Back to Loe Bar on Remembrance Day |
And along the Coastal path |
'Dogs welcome' |
|
As promised we were welcome |
We had to get two buses back, the first one to Helston, where we went in another pub (after being refused entry at a Wetherspoons) |
Saturday morning and ready for the 400 mile drive home, we slept all the way as we were absolutely knackered from all of our activities of the past two weeks |
See you next time.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
