A Roadmap To Nowhere?

'We haven't had a blog lately Rudie'. I've had a few of you asking if I've given up being a blogger and moved into other social media platforms, the truth is I've been a busy boy doing what dogs like to do ie walking and sleeping (and eating).

Anyway let's start to catch up.

We got loads of snow at the start of February

Which was good fun for a few days

Locked down and snowed in - frustrating for humans, great for dogs

Walking on water - true legends

We weren't allowed to go anywhere in the car, the police were having roadblocks and fining people for non essential journey - the shit got real!

Talking of shit, with no chance of a swim in the sea we took our pleasure where we could

We just happened' to bump into Col & Rosie on a walk - don't tell

At the end of February with the vaccine program progressing well Boris announced his 4 step roadmap back to normality culminating in Freedom DAY on June 21st. April 12th looks appealing any chance of a road trip I wonder?

One human could meet one other human outside for exercise, mum and Tracey took us around Fynn Valley with Barney. Good job they took a tripod!

Look at Barney's feet lol

'Come on just jump'

That's a pub, we used to be able to go inside them

Just chillin'

Here's Steph our Instagram queen at Martlesham Creek

The yanks are comin'. This got dad very excited

Here's a failed walk around Wickham Market. We were allowed to go there as we had to pick up our worming tablets from the vets

There probably wasn't but mum wasn't having any of it!

So we retraced our steps and did a circle around Wickham which wasn't very exciting

Oh look a dog food shop

Dopey dropped his kong underneath the new kennel so I helped dig it out

Then he dropped it down a hole where dad had removed a fence post

I can see it but just can't reach

In the end we had to abandon all recovery plans and bury it - poor Luther

Our part of the garden is already for the next phase of our upgrade

Roll on the Spring

Cor look we've got a beach to match our beach hut styled kennel

Butter wouldn't melt bless him, until you look closely and see the dead fox which he has just rolled in!

March 9th our 'Roadmap' journey begins with a well deserved trip to Shingle Street

In case you're in any doubt

It was f**kin' marvellous to get back in the sea

And have some fun on the beach

I now understand what having freedom taken away means

We were also now allowed to meet up with other households outside so we did a circular walk from Alderton to Shingle Street with Max & Steph

FFS Luther needs a helping hand to climb the bank, he nearly had Max in the water

Barney came along too, his mum Tracey was stuck indoors self isolating for 10 days

Luther back in his place of birth, Alderton

Mum dreaming of having a drink at Milsoms

You never know what you'll find in the woods

BT Research Lab in the background

The good news for us is that mum keeps wanting to walk at least a 100 miles a month, it's tiring for us but we're happy to support her

I'm not happy! They've filled my holes in around Strummer's grave, how long do you think that'll stay flat?

Welcome to 'Echo Beach'

Made with sea shells from Shingle Street

Spring has sprung in my woods

A morning swim in the river at Ufford

More signs of Spring

Luther with Sam & Max's Tonka lorry, I don't think they play with it anymore

What's going on here?

Meanwhile back at Shingle street. Does that apply to dogs?

Probably but we'll be careful

Aldeburgh to Thorpeness circular walk. There used to be a railway line here

Walking alongside Thorpeness Golf Club, by now people were allowed to meet up and play golf again

The boats have all been repainted at the mere, but nobody is allowed to use them yet

What better way is there to round off a nice walk

Have you watched 'The Dig' yet? Sam came home at Easter, me an' Luth are his support bubble, So we took him for a walk around Sutton Hoo

The replica of the ship that was buried by the Anglo-Saxons, well before my time

Cor there's Woodbridge

Aha an Easter Egg, we're not allowed to eat chocolate though

We traded in the chocolate for Lamb bones - that's more like it

Helping dad out with some measurements with his latest project

Yet another trip to Shingle Street

Mum has discovered a circular walk along the beach and round the marshes

Before

And after. Our new project a garden room
The men who put it up brought their puppy along, a 12 week old Italian water dog called Enzo. Speaking of Enzo I'll tell you about another Enzo, but that's for another blog

Oops I dug it again - I'm like Britney Spears! I just can't stop myself

Finally April 12th arrived and we moved into step 2 of the Boris roadmap to freedom. The part I liked was "Self-contained accommodation, such as holiday lets, where indoor facilities are not shared with other households, can also reopen."
Time to get our own map out me thinks.
I'll let you know what happened next in my next blog, until then stay safe... you know the drill by now.

Love from Rudie THE Dog xx
