Hi everyone
I'll be totally honest with you, lockdown (set to become the most hated word of 2020) has worked in my favour more than against it so far. Okay I haven't been able to go travelling around Europe this summer (I assume that there was a trip planned?) but other than that I don't think that I've missed out on much.
Poor old Luther has been in the wars again recently (FFS!) but I'll get to that later. We've had some crackin' walks and a couple of great days out as well since returning from Cornwall.

I've noticed lots of these dens being built on my travels |
Evening walk to Martlesham Creek
Someone's interested in me
Look where we ended up
One happy girl, after walking through the grounds for the last few months Milsoms has finally reopened
Sunset in my woods
Another evening walk, this one was from Levington Ship to the marina and back
Heading back to the pub
We had another rendezvous with Sam, this time at Hylands Park near Chelmsford
It was another hot day
Me being an Essex Boy!
A walk from Oulton Broad to Lowestoft, Ness Point & back by train |
Crown Meadow home of The Trawler Boys
Ness Point - the most easterly point of Great Britain |
No chance of a swim! |
To get here we had to walk past the Birds Eye factory and through an Industrial estate, not quite what you might expect, I wonder what the North, South and West points are like?
Cor leftover fish & chips
Bloody lovely! |
Time to head back
Face masks compulsory for humans
Five minutes later and we're back in Oulton Broad. Did you notice all of the water that we passed on the walk? We didn't get one swim!
Good ol' mum & dad, they took a detour to Dunwich on the way home
Mind you they didn't expect it to be so busy. Bloody Covid-19 everybody's staying in England! At least we got a swim though
Did any of my UK friends do this? It was the government's idea to get people back out spreading Coronavirus on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesdays throughout August,. They were offered up to £10 off their meals as an incentive. I think that was the idea, but what do I know?
We went on a couple of them |
The Newbourne Fox was the first one, as of today mum & dad haven't caught anything so it didn't work!
My secret retreat when everyone is in the garden!
Up early for a swim at Felixstowe
It's about this time that Luther developed a limp, we think he did it in my woods chasing sticks
The next day and we're back in Felixstowe at 7.30am for a long walk
Blimey that boat is still there |
We love to jump on the concrete blocks
We stopped off at The Fludyers for breakfast |
Wow ice cream for dogs, dad's far too tight to buy me an' Luth one
Back at Languard
We went for a staycation at Max & steph's
Just chillin'
So after a couple of weeks of limping about and not getting any better Luther all of a sudden couldn't put any weight on his back leg so off to the vets we went
He was diagnosed with an Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and was ordered to have two weeks bed rest, no walks and not even allowed to run around the garden
He spent most days tied to the deck |
He even got a watering can to drink out of so he didn't feel left out!
Meanwhile I had to be sneaked out for my walks. I just got on with it
In fairness I did keep him company
There's been a lot of talk about how Luth got injured, dad has even researched it on the internet. One of the causes of ACL's in dogs is obesity, but I'll tell you one thing. He ain't heavy, he's my brother!
Aah he wants to play |
Joined at the hip |
August 26th |
Judgement day at the vets
So the verdict was that he's got a lot better and he can go on short walks on a lead, the best news was that he could swim as much as he wants. |
We headed straight to Aldeburgh to celebrate. Don't worry he didn't really needed to be carried across the beach
Like old times
He's looking a lot happier
Swimming at Felixstowe and heading for the Harwich ferry
We're back in my woods |
More aqua therapy at Aldeburgh, Luther swam from here all the way from here...
To here and back |
I didn't!
Huh!
That's why we went to Aldebugh!
The best chippy
So good we hardly get any left overs! |
So that's us up to date for now, Luther seems to be getting stronger and has been doing lots of swimming, the test will come when he gets off the lead and joins me for some running and playing.
I've just found out that we're going to Scotland on a road trip, f**k I'm a lucky dog!
I'll report back in a few weeks but in the meantime you can always head over to our instagram page @rudedogandluthrador for the latest news!
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
