Unless you're American July 4th (Independence Day) is usually pretty insignificant, but not this year. It was the day that you humans got unlocked a bit more, hairdressers, pubs and restaurants were allowed to reopen, more importantly it meant that hotels and holiday apartments were also allowed to reopen. WHICH MEANT THAT WE WERE ALLOWED TO GO ON HOLIDAY!
Mum had booked a place a few weeks earlier when she found out it might be possible as long as the 'R' stayed below 1 (in other words the virus was under control).
So after Shaggy (dad) had been for his 8am haircut we hit the road to Cornwall.
I hope you enjoy my photos which have been taken using a Hipstamatic filter.

Getting the car packed on friday night |
Welcome to Cornwall - not everyone was pleased to see me! |
Our apartment in St Issey |
We met up with Paul & Gail on our first day, they had just picked up their new camper van from Somerset |
So they came out on a walk with us to Padstow from Little Petherick |
Nosey Cow! |
Up the creek |
Best behave myself - don't fancy being shot |
Oh look, I spy a beach |
Padstow and the Camel estuary |
So many rules |
Ice Cream stop in Padstow |
On the Camel Trail |
At last we got the chance of a swim, albeit a very brief dip
Back at the car park and they're were selling homemade dog treats |
We had a good walk everyday, Monday was a circular one around Pentire Point |
First selfie of the holiday! |
Polzeath beach behind us - looks very inviting |
I never knew that leads came from a mine lol! |
We weren't allowed to swim at Polzeath so we drove round to Daymer Bay |
Our first proper swim of the holiday |
On Tuesday we walked from Padstow through the lanes to Tregirls Farm and then to to Hawker's Cove |
The Doom Bar is at the mouth of the estuary where the river meets the sea. I've seen dad drinking Doom Bar but it's definitely not sea water |
We got to the beach at low tide and there was miles of it to play on |
We literally had the place to ourselves |
There's Daymer Bay opposite at the mouth of the Camel River |
Why not watch my beach video if you've got four minutes to spare and you want to watch me digging, we really did have lot's of fun here!
The sun disappeared on Wednesday but it didn't stop us from going to Constantine Bay |
We found a really good rock pool just along the coast |
It's a bit windy buh! |
Golf lol |
Thursday was also a bit miserable weather wise, but it didn't bother us dogs |
We had a walk along the cliffs towards Stepper's Point from Trevone Bay |
Back in Trevone Bay, we weren't allowed on the main beach but found our own little bay just around the corner |
Friday and the sun came back out, We did a great circular walk from Perranporth towards St Agnes |
Out along the cliffs and back through the lanes |
A few hours later and we were back in Perranporth and on the beach |
Saturday and time to hit the road for the 350 odd mile drive back to Suffolk. Because we had been such good boys all week we got to go for one last walk/swim. We did the walk from Padstow to Hawker's Cove again |
It was high tide but there was still lots of beach to play on |
Spot the ball (It's just above the left hand cliff) |
We made some friends today who wanted to join in our games, I had to tell the one at the back not to worry about social distancing though |
A summary of all of our walks |
Once again Cornwall didn't disappoint, it was lovely to get into that salt water called The Atlantic Ocean, dig holes on the sandy beaches and have lovely walks and loads of treats. I don't know if we're going on any other holidays this year, but I don't think I'll need my passport even if we do, as Europe seems to be out of bounds.
I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime stay safe and stay positive, one day you'll all be free again.
Lots of love from
Rudie THE Dog xx
