Unlocking The Labs (Gradually)

I know it's been a tough time for you humans during the first phase of lockdown, not being allowed to socialise or go near each other. It's not been easy for me an' Luther either having to spend so much time with just mum and dad, afterall we do like to socialise with you lot as well.
Finally in mid May after weeks of 'Staying local' and just going for walks from home we were allowed out in the car once again. We headed straight to Shingle Street on that first morning, for a much needed swim in the sea.

Having recovered from Coronavirus himself, Boris was back with a new set of rules. They caused an awful lot of confusion for some people - probably the lockdown getting to them mentally. I know dad hated the colour scheme!

I smell the sea
Okay you've got your photo, stop f**kin' teasin' and let us in!

Ah heaven, the feel of that cold salt water

Someone's missing the barbers!

The next day we went on a little road trip to meet up with Sam in Epping Forest. As part of the new 'Unlock' rules one member of a family was allowed to meet up with another family member who was living alone - but only outside. Mum and dad both went so were technically cheating a bit, but after Dominic Cummings' escapades at Easter they felt vindicated
I spent hours laying in front of the TV hearing about this, perhaps we'll visit Barnard Castle one day

Sam was really happy to see me an' Luth (and probably mum and dad). He'd been furloughed
for a few weeks and was getting a bit stir crazy in locked down London

Lol it only took me about two minutes to find this skanky pond!

There were some seriously big trees there

We loved it

Found another stream

Luther decided to roll in some horse shit

So it was back to the skanky pond for us - we weren't very popular!

No chance of a drink at the Kings Oak

We were tied up while they had a socially distanced picnic (although we did get some treats)

Thanks for having us

We don't have to socially distance
Making use of our new account

It was also good to have a catch up with Max as well over on Martlesham Heath

There's only one reason you'll find us in Aldeburgh in the evening and that's so mum and dad can get fish & chips. Takeaways were starting to open up again and they had a craving

We got to enjoy the freedom of the beach

Lovely sunset over Orford

A walk around Bucklesham before ordering grans dinners

If there's water we'll find it

Gran has been self isolating since just before lockdown, luckily The Shannon have been delivering meals to her twice a week, she's quite lucky really but don't quote me!

Milsoms is looking good, everytime we walk past mum says 'I want to go there'

Rudeodendrons!

June 5th and we're doing our bit towards BMFC's weekend fundraiser

They should have been playing in a 5 aside tournament in Dortmund but obviously couldn't go, so they decided to run, cycle and walk the 662 miles there and back and raise money for the Memory Lane Cafe in Ipswich

A great effort from everyone
Although it says 4.67miles me an' Luther at least doubled that distance. Well done to the squad though, they did a total of 1120 miles between them

Ooops! Luther nicked a couple of rolls and hides away

Back over to Milsoms with Barney, rumour has it that it will be opening up again at the start of July

Up early for a swim at Felixstowe

You can't beat a drink from the watering cans after a salty swim!

New rules for unlocking - you can now form a 'Support bubble' with another person who lives alone, so Sam is home for the weekend and some pampering. Gran came round for a socially distanced visit as well, but she's not allowed indoors. It's getting complicated

Friday evening swim at Aldeburgh

Luther being a lushie

Max met us there for fish & chips

A few photos from my woods

Equality has been big news lately, luckily we don't have those problems in the canine world

I've heard the pubs might be reopening on July 4th but it's 7am on a Thursday morning in June, in Sizewell

We were up and out early for a big walk

The Sizewell nuclear power stations

We found a friend to swim with

Anti-tank concrete blocks from World War 2

Another swimming opportunity

A bird hide on Dunwich beach

The Coast Guard Cottages at Dunwich

Trying out social distancing

They don't want Pirri-Pirri-Bur here, ever heard of it?

Minsmere

F**k me more signs! So far we're keeping 2 metres apart, getting rid of Pirri-Pirri-Bur and now we don't want the proposed Sizewell C&D power stations being built
The
The Eels Foot Eastbridge

More signs!

Just nipped in for a crafty swim

Back in Sizewell

We had a bit of lunch and then another swim to round off a brilliant day out

We had a walk over in Martlesham and met Nelly, she's Harry's new dog,
Hooray, the next part of unlocking begins on July 4th, pubs, hotels, holiday lettings, hairdressers are all opening up again and guess what? We’re going to Cornwall on Saturday morning, f**kin’ hell I’m so excited!
Happy Independence Day and Dog bless Boris!
Look out for my holiday blog when I get back, in the mean time you can keep up to date by following mine and Luther’s Instagram story @rudedogandluthrador, we’ll be sending regular updates to our account manager Steph to post!
In the meantime keep on staying safe and be sensible, I want to be free.
Lot’s of love from
