Hands up, paws up who's bored in this weird lockdowned world? There are many advantages with the current situation from a dog's point of view, the biggest one is that we cannot get or carry the Covid-19 virus. We're big players in helping people getting through the crisis, I speak to lots of dogs when we're out on our daily walks and they're all telling me the same thing, they're knackered! But we're not complaining, we love the attention and if we help get the human race get through the next few weeks/months we'll have earned our keep.
Before I get to tell you about my life as a lockdowned Lab I need to catch up and remind you of how normality use to look like.
Let's rewind to January
And a trip to Aldeburgh
I don't know how the winter was were you live but in Suffolk we got away with another mild one, no snow for us to play in
Back to shingle beaches after a week of sandy ones in Cornwall
I know I always say it, but as a dog you can't beat an open fire after a cold swim
No we haven't done anything wrong, it's our just woke up look"
A rare outing in the Dingtrim van
Over to Martlesham Heath
Meanwhile back in my woods
We did have some pretty windy days which meant a walk over the Millenium green
Ah Luther makes such a good pillow
So mum and dad went on holiday in February and we were going to be rehoused with a dog sitter, I think that our escopology at Max & Steph's last summer ruled that one out and in fairness they didn't want to put us in kennels for two weeks. We did go and do a home visit but I don't think that the people were that keen on having two Labradors, we probably didn't help our chances by both pooing in their back garden! It's almost like we did it deliberately as a protest. In the end we won and M&S came to stay at our house.
We actually all got on well, they took us out everyday
Max had just had an operation on his shoulder so he was crap with the ball thrower!
We had leftover takeaways
And tried to get away with as much as possible
The weather was horrendous, it rained everyday and to make matters worse for them I kept laying in muddy puddles
Ooops has someone rolled in shit?
We even had to get up in the middle of the night to watch a boxing match Tyson Fury v Deontay Wilder
Hodor came to visit several times
All in all it was a great success from my point of view, we got very spoilt, Steph kept spoiling us with treats and she also ran our Instagram account, in fact she did so well that we have decided to give her the gig full time. Are you following us? If not why not? Just search for @rudedogandluthrador
The party's over mum and dad are back
Where are we off to?
Felixstowe for a well deserved swim
Not such a big boat in today
It wasn't me!
Well whoever it was got away with it
Another of my favourite places Shingle Street
An early morning treat
There's hardly ever anyone else about down here, isolation - a word that is about to get used a lot very soon!
It's now the middle of March and the Coronavirus has arrived in Europe from China, with Italy & Spain going into strict lockdown. People are only allowed out of their homes to buy food or TAKE THEIR DOGS FOR A WALK. 'A man's best friend is his dog', never truer. So what if that happens in England and mum or dad catch it? How will me an' Luther get out and how? Time to make a plan.
So we made an instructional video just in case it happens
Here's a link hopefully it will never be needed
Where to now?
The vets for our MOT. We both passed although we had both put on a bit of weight, probably because Steph kept giving us treats!
Mother's Day and the Daffodils are looking good, Spring has arrived
We took our mum to Felixstowe. There's some work going on at the beach
Where have all the boats gone?
This was to be our last trip to the seaside until?
Life has now changed for the human race with countries allover the world now in lockdown, hopefully it won't be for too long. I'll write another blog soon and update you on how life is for me an' Luther, it probably won't be very exciting!
