Hi everybody
Happy 2020, how's it all going so far? Mine is a bit drab to be honest with you, not much going on since we got back from Cornwall. Did I say Cornwall?
I'll tell you about that another day but first I want to tell you about my trip to Yorkshire in November, bet you can't wait!
We went up to Yorkshire for a few days - bit of an unexpected treat that |
We stayed in this cottage in a small village called Horton-in-Ribblesdale |
Mmm what's over there? |
First impressions were, 'Where's the sea?' |
Didn't find it all the time we were there, but did find the odd river and stream |
We are such posers |
See what I mean? |
'I see no ships' |
See that hill/mountain in the background, its called Pen-y-ghent and is part of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, more about that later |
We were in Yorkshire for a week and had lot's of good walks, which I loved, a perfect dog holiday |
Another observation, there's loads of stone walls and sheep |
Oh no Luther's injured again! He had a deep gash on one of his pads. Could this mean a rest day for him coming up? |
No was the answer, after much debate the next morning and a fitness test he was passed fit for the day's activities |
Starting with a ride on the train one stop to Ribblesdale |
I love a train ride |
The weather picked up as well |
The Ribbledale Viaduct - older than dad |
From there we walked back home, it turned out to be about eight miles |
Time for a quick paddle |
This was our default position every night and I can honestly say we earned it |
Luther's 4th birthday, not a card or present insight, forget any ideas about Hawes mate - nobody seemed to remember. Is that a sulky face, or is his paw still sore? |
Today was the day to climb up Pen-y-ghent and do a six mile circular walk |
Cor it's a bit cold today |
He looks a bit happier now |
Gettin' there! |
It was a bit of a scramble up the last part |
We made it to the top |
What more could you want on your birthday? It's better than what I got, remember I was locked up in a kennel - abandoned! Shit I said I wouldn't mention that again |
Talking of shit, this is the shithouse that Luther discovered on the way back down |
Literally he went in and came out... |
Looking like this! Now you could ask did he do it as payback for not getting any birthday presents? |
Or did I put him up to it so that we got to go down to the river for a swim? Whatever the answer he stunk, he pissed dad off, who had to literally roll him in wet grass to clean him up abit |
All cleaned up and smelling fresh -what a day |
Up in the hills behind Horton-in-Ribblesdale |
Pen-y-ghent in the background |
'Oops I did it again' He really is a nightmare |
Which meant another swim, well done Luth! |
Our last day |
We had visitors Paul & Gail stayed last night and Emily came over for the day, we really are popular dogs bless them |
We went on another circular walk and ended up taking a few wrong turns - nothing to do with me, I don't read maps! |
We made it back though before it got dark |
That was a great holiday, did they arrange it just to pacify me? Or am I just getting carried away with my ego? I'm not sure really.
Anyway you'll be pleased to learn that Luther's paw healed up nicely once we got back to Kesgrave and that he has forgiven mum and dad for not getting him a birthday present and especially a cake!!
See you soon
Lots of love from
