Two Birthdays Another Lockdown & Lots Of Swimming

Blimey this pandemic is really lasting a longtime for you humans isn’t it. I would say I feel your pain but to be honest with you I don’t, as it’s not made any real difference to mine and Luther’s daily life.

We’re still doing plenty of swimming

As well as helping out in the garden

Happy birthday to me, here’s a classic example of how different life is under lockdown for me, last year I celebrated my 7th birthday locked up in prison (aka the kennels) while mum & dad deserted me for Seville. Twelve months on and I’m swimming at Thorpeness beach

And getting my own homemade birthday cake, an apricot sponge

Thanks mum

Lovely morning for a swim at Shingle Street

Back in Felixstowe

It’s that time of the year - I really do enjoy a swim in the cold sea followed by roasting my nuts in front of the fire!

How not to make yourself popular

Making use of the portaloo!

We decided to change the car so had one last outing in it
To Gorleston beach which is north of Lowestoft in Norfolk

The Pier Hotel another location used in the film Yesterday

It was a bit nicer when they filmed here!

I have to say Gorleston’s a rum ol’ place

Be sad to see ‘Pol’ go, we’ve had some great adventures with her

Here’s our new car another Merc, me an’ Luth are so spoilt. KNtheBSD named from the Number Plate (you fill in the blanks) - hopefully we’ll have some great road trips with him

First trip was to Aldeburgh

November sunshine

Remembrance Sunday at the Control Tower, Martlesham Heath

Happy 5th birthday to my little brother Luthie who is starting to catch me up in the grey stakes!

A birthday trip to Shingle Street

It’s such an exciting place the recent high tides have created these lovely swimming pools for us

He’s a happy bunny

Oh good mum’s made him a birthday cake he got raspberry

It was bloody lovely

Sam came home to his bubble for a couple of days during Lockdown 2 and needed some fresh air and a ‘substantial meal’ this was our recommendation

‘Lockdown Two’ on Aldeburgh beach

I see no ships but I smell chips

Told ya

Cor Advent Calendars - extra treats for us

Waiting patiently for Max & Steph to pick us up, wonder where they’ll take us?

Here we are again - we’ve been to Aldeburgh lots lately must be the lure of the chip shop!

Our queen of Instagram - head over to @rudedogandluthrador for the latest news

They couldn’t resist and nor could we

The good news is that we’re out of lockdown again which means that we can slide off to Cornwall for a week. Déjà-vu as that’s where we went after the first lockdown, pure coincidence that or has mum got more sway with Boris than we know about? I hope not for dads sake!!
I’ll let you know how our trip goes when I get back, in the meantime stay safe, follow the guidelines and enjoy your substantial meals.

The Lochratour - West Coast 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi everyone

Welcome back to The Lochratour, we're heading west.

We left Castletown before 8am for the 130 mile trip across the top of Scotland to Achmelvich which is near to Loch Inver

Our first stop was Smoo Cave

Which has an underground waterfall

All very interesting but I preferred the swim afterwards

Next stop was Balnakeil Bay

I have to say they've got some great beaches in Scotland

And most of the time they're deserted

I have to say mum & dad were quite good, finding us great places to swim & play

Here we go again, Glamping in Achmelvich

The Glampsite was literally a minutes walk from the beach

Trouble at mill

Mum wasn't too pleased with this part of the walk to the ruins of the Alltanabradhan Grain Mill, the rocks were very uneven and the wind was blowing a hooley up the valley

Not to mention crossing the stream!

Taking in the views

Glamptastic

We met up for a walk at the Stoer Head Lighthouse with Karma & Lava, who were also on holiday with their mum & dad Kimberley & Mark

Along the cliffs to The Old Man of Stoer

There it is, I expected to see an old bloke!

Time to move on to the Isle of Skye but not before one last swim at Achmelvich early in the morning

80 miles later and we're having our second swim of the day

And then an hour or so after that a third one in Loch Maree

We had four days to explore the Isle of Skye

The Scottish mainland is somewhere over the rainbow

Another walk to an 'Old Man'

This one was The Old Man of Storr

Cor it's hard ol' work

There it is

It was quite a hike up there

And very windy

We still had enough energy for a swim afterwards at An Carran Beach

Sligachan Statue

A walk to the Fairy Pools at Glen Brittle

Surprise surprise we managed to get a swim

Speed bonny boat! Monday morning and it's time to leave Skye and return to the mainland, I really liked it here, hopefully we'll come back one day

The trip was coming towards the end and we were heading south to Gourock, our last stop, but not before taking a diversion to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, the most westerly point of Britain. We had to drive 25 miles down a single track road to reach it which wasn't my favourite drive, I much prefer a motorway or dual carriageway where I don't get disturbed so much!

It was also dad's birthday - anything for a quiet life!

We also found a lovely beach nearby

We actually scared the sheep and some of them waded across the water to get away from us

We stopped of at Loch Lomond on the way as well

F**k it no chance of a swim though!

We had two nights in Gourock before the long drive back home. No chance of getting up these stairs for us!

All good things come to an end

Homeward bound, but there was one last stop Barnard Castle, I think that dad wanted to go to the opticians ffs!

And so it ends. That was such a great holiday, so much swimming and plenty of nice walks too. Luther's ACL survived and he actually got stronger, must be all of that aquatherapy!
My only criticism of the trip was that the roads on the NC500 are narrow and bumpy, not the most comfortable for a dog trying to get a nap, but according to mum & dad the scenery whilst driving along is stunning. Scotland proved to be quite bonny.
Hope you liked my photos
