Cornish Capers

Hi everyone

Imagine my delight when I found out that we were going to Cornwall for a week in March, I know it's a long way from where we live but I'm happy to chill out in the back of the car.

We left home at 5am to beat the M25 traffic

Breakfast time at Fleet services

Cor I like it here, this is the view from our apartment in St Ives

Oi enough posing let me get in the sea!

The great thing about Cornwall in March is that there's not many tourists and no dog bans on the beaches - heaven

It was a blowy ol' day on Saturday - look at our ears!

We drove down to Lands End to see Luke from the gym complete his challenge of cycling, running and kayaking from John O' Groats
Blimey it's nearly 900 miles

Next stop the USA, don't think I'll ever get there
Here he is after two weeks of effort I think he might be fitter than me!

It was nice to go to Lands End but I didn't get a swim

A wet Sunday morning in St Ives

who cares

Siesta
This'll make you laugh, the sun came out in the afternoon so we decided to go back down to the beach, as we stood by the gate dad took a photo from across the road. All of a sudden mum screamed out, I had pissed up her leg - I thought it was the gate post 😂😂
She's gone in to get changed

All's well that ends well

A drizzly Monday morning
We went for a six mile walk along the coast from St Ives to Zennor Head

We got the bus back to St Ives

Almost another day without a swim luckily we went for a dip when we got back to St Ives!
Tuesday was a better day weather wise

Blue skies and sunshine

We caught a train from St Ives to Lelant Saltings five miles along the coast
Captain Pugwash!
That was my first ever train ride
And then we walked back to St Ives

Blimey that's close
We f**kin' love it

Oh so Luther put a photo on instagram!
That was a bit of a climb

Nice view though

Heading towards Carbis Bay
Luther checkin' out Porthgwidden Beach in St Ives
Don't worry mum I'm not going to piss on you!

Sunny selfie
Another day another walk

This one was a circular one around Godrevy Lighthouse and Mutton Cove

You can see St Ives behind us

Look at all of those seals on the beach at Mutton Cove

What better way to end a walk

Thursday started  out a bit wet, we caught the train from St Ives to Penzance

Welcome to Penzance. This train malarky is so exciting we had to change trains at St Erth to get here

We were walking from Penzance to St Michaels Mount and back

There it is. St Michael's Mount, just visible through the cloud, it's a small island opposite Marizon

Right let's go take a look
You can walk across on the causeway when the tide is low

We made it
There's the harbour

Let's hope we can get back!

We made a new friend - he's a big mofo!
We got off safely, you can see the tide starting to cut the island off

Time to go home - look at that for a train! It goes from Penzance to London, takes about six hours and can do 140 miles per hour!

Lol we got on it for eight minutes, one stop to St Erth

Back in St Ives, I'm starting to like train travel!
So that was the end of our time in Cornwall but the good news is that they didn't want to go home on Friday and decided that we could stay for a night in Devon, in a place called Beer! really?

I kid you not

Young, free and shingle

We went for a walk along the coast to Seaton in the afternoon

Meanwhile back in Beer. Mmmmm that's not very friendly (the sign in the window saying 'Do not let your dogs mark or urinate here'). You know what I was tempted to do?

Once last swim on Saturday morning before going home

How many of you would like to swim in beer?
Well that holiday certainly lived up to expectations, mum loves Cornwall and I love mum, let's hope that she wants to go back there soon - as long as it's not by train without me an' Luth.
Catch up soon.

Lots of love from Rudie THE Dog xx
