Go West Young Dog

Happy 2019 everyone. I'm still way behind with my blog so my New Year's resolution is to be a bit more switched on with it or give it up!
Let's rewind to my last road trip of the year which was at the beginning of October.

Two lucky Labs
We drove all the way across England and into Wales
Finally we arrived in the small village of in Gileston somewhere between Cardiff and Swansea
A nice welcome but no dog treats!
Not a bad gaff Taff!

We weren't far from the beach or Aberthaw Power Station

That's a rocky beach

What a dog!

Making ourselves at home

Saturday morning at a wet Llantwit Beach

But we don't care!

Ah that's why we went to Wales! Mum and dad sneaked off to watch Swansea v Ipswich
Sunday morning in Barry. That's the house they used as Gwen's home in Gavin & Stacey

Oh good there's a beach there

On location

Smithy, Gavin, Stacey & Nessa

That's their Gavin & Stacey fix done so it's back in the car. Where to next?
Hooray Cornwall
We're staying in Portscatho for a week
'Monday Morning View' - people tend to have a photo of their toes with a swimming pool in the background when they're on holiday, this is my take on it

The Royal Standard one of the two pubs in the village

The Plume Of Feathers was the other one
Just opposite our cottage
Lovely day for a walk

We did an eight mile walk along the Roseland peninsula from Portscatho to St Mawes

It was great we hardly saw anyone and we had the beaches all to ourselves

Cor...nish Pasty!

They saved a bit for us

We made it to a place called Place Creek

Where we got a boat across to...

St Mawes

To the pub

And then a bus ride back to Portscatho
Quite an adventure - I loved it
Needless to say we were knackered
Another day another adventure, this time northwards along the Roseland Peninsula

We f**kin' love it

Portscatho in the distance

Lunchtime at The Hidden Hut

Porthcurnick Beach

Lol we even got dad in - in his pants!!
Someone's been in dad's backpack overnight and found the treats!

Not so nice today
The King Harry Ferry on the way to Lizard Point the most southerly part of mainland Britain

The obligatory selfie

Lizard lighthouse

Heading along the coast to Kynance Cove

Another great walk, although we weren't allowed a swim - too rough apparently!

On the way home via The Norway Inn

More rain as Storm Callum passes through Cornwall it didn't bother me an' Luth though

Cor the sea's gettin' rougher

Ah Luther loves daddy!

A quick dip in the sea before teatime

Chillin'
Last day of the holiday

A walk along the coast to The Hidden Hut

Not many people about today

Our final swim at Porthcurnick Beach dad not joining us today!

Sunday morning 364 miles and we'll be home
What a year it's been for me and Luther we've been on three holiday's and visited 8 different countries, not bad for a couple of black Labs!
I'll catch up with you soon with some mundane stories about the winter.

Lots of love from

Rudie THE Dog xx
